Taste of Summer

We we able to spend Memorial Day weekend at grandma's condo in St. George and we invited Eric's sister Katie and her fiance Dave to come join in on the fun. It was so nice to finally get away from it all. We spent a lot of our time hanging out by the pool, unfortunately all those fun pictures are on Dave's camera, but we did have fun going out to eat and on Sunday we even visited the temple.
As we were talking with some of the missionaries that worked at the temple we found out that one of the sisters was actually from Virginia, and Eric even knew her really well. Eric used to visit her family often in one of his very first areas on the mission pretty crazy, and quite a small world! It was fun for them to catch up.

Katie and Dave, I swear, never stopped smiling!

Grandpa even let Eric drive the corvette. We decided to take it to the store with us, our mistake was to lock it, who would have though this old thing had an alarm...it took FOREVER for us to figure out how to turn it off!

Eating at Chili's, we're so cute!

Katie and Dave!
It was a super fun trip, and we are so glad that Katie and Dave came along with us they are so fun and full of laughs. We can't wait for the wedding!

Darn

The results are in, ANTM season finale aired last night. Unfortunately Allison did not take the title of America's Next Top Model, but I did enjoy watching this season despite all of Tyra's comments: "You were doing this, and you should have been doing this." You just did the same thing Tyra!! You all know what I mean. Anyways this is a pretty picture, and I'm now ready to watch So You Think You Can Dance so American Idol...your done.

Need a pick me up?

So yesterday I was cleaning/getting ready/jamming out to some old Celine Dion albums from my youth, and I stumbled across a song that really made think. I really never noticed how inspirational it was, I mean I know good ole' Celine loves to sing about love and romace but this particular song can really tie into life in general. If you really listen to and/or read the lyrics you just may see what I mean...or maybe it was just something I needed to hear, who knows!

Don't surrender 'cause you can win in this thing called love
When you want it the most, there's no easy way out
When you're ready to go, and your heart's left in doubt
Don't give up on your faith, love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is.

So it is simple right? Just have faith! That is the way it is! It really is true though, and it is so often and so easily that I forget the simple things and lose faith. Thanks Celine for reminding me!

You wanna be on top?

The final four was Wednesday night and Allison was picture of the week! I really would like to see her win, although it pains me to picture her walking in the final runway show (she isn't very graceful).

On a side note I had my evaluation at work today, and tomorrow will be my 3 year anniversary with Mountain America, crazy!
I received a gift for my service to the company (except it is blue)

I am so lucky to be working there, Mountain America really has so many benefits, and the longer I work there the more I see that. (I also got a raise...not as big as they have been in the past when we do our evaluations, but it is very rare to be getting a raise in this economy.)
A few more things to update about...
  • UVU has posted grades and Eric rocked this semester, I on the other hand, may be taking that Accounting class one more time (hopefully just one more!).
  • Eric has one class for the summer, Ethics and Values, and I will be taking the summer off.
  • We are preparing to move to Orem in August, our sister-in-law's parents own some apartments and we are very excited to have our own place again and be closer to our friends!
  • My brother comes home July 27th so he will be kicking us out anyways, which reminds me, we will be able to talk to Heaston for the last time (crazy!) on Mothers Day! He has been doing so well and really loves the area he has been serving in Washington, but we are exciting to have him home, for those who know him...there is no other Heaston, right?
  • I had to get a root canal today (well it is a two day process, so I got half of it done today). I was kind of scared, but it really wasn't any worse than a filling, you get numb, they drill a little, and then your done. We will see how day 2 goes... I will also have to get a crown because a tooth that has a root canal is very brittle. My dentist is also going to make a mouth guard so I stop grinding at night! I love my new dentist so if anyone is looking for a dentist I know the best.
  • The Hawaiian Shave Ice shack has opened. That is all.

Our Busy Day.

Yesterday was the busiest Saturday we have had in a long time! It was wonderful to finally be able to spend the day together though. Eric's cousin Bobby was married to Emily, so Eric took the day off and we were able to attened the temple ceremony. I love being able to go to the temple they are all so beautiful. It was so nice to sit and wait for Bobby and Emily, and have a chance to just feel of the spirit that is present in the temple. I was feeling so stressed before we left, I had so much laundry to do and we have finals coming up this week and everything else that is going on in our lives, but somehow it was impossible to even think about those things. I just felt so at peace and so happy to look around me and see all of my family. It was wonderful. Bobby and Emily are such a cute couple, Congrats!

After the temple me, Eric, Tim and Trav went to Cabela's to shop for fishing supplies and guns then we drove straight to wedding luncheon in Springville.

It was also Prom for Spanish Fork High School last night, so on our way home from the luncheon we were able to stop by the high school and take some pictures of Ryan and his date. They look so cute!

We then had to make our way to the reception, which is where we spent the rest of the night. It was a great day to be with family and see people that we rarley get to see! We were so glad that Travis was able to come to Utah and we were very surprised to see Katie! We love family!
